Is it time to replace your brush?

Who is doing some spring cleaning? 🙋🏻‍♀️I know I am!⠀

⠀

Have you gotten to your bathroom cabinet yet? I haven't. Mine is a disaster.⠀

⠀

So let's take a minute to talk about your hair brushes. When was the last time you replaced them? 🤔⠀

⠀

While the time frame varies, even if you clean them regularly, you should replace them sooner than you think. A good rule of thumb is every six months.

⠀

Here is why...⠀

⠀

☆ Every time you brush your hair, the bristles are accumulating product, dead skin cells and oil. So when you brush your hair, you are adding that back into your hair. ⠀

❗️This can weigh it down, snag strands and cause common scalp issues like dandruff and eczema.❗️⠀

⠀

Take a look at the bristles. Are you missing any? If the bristles are fraying or melted, it's time to say farewell. Damaged bristles can damage and rip hair from your scalp.

You should be cleaning hair out of your brush daily. It's also best to soak your brushes in mild shampoo and luke warm water once a week.⠀

⠀

How old is your hair brush? Or better yet, when was the last time you cleaned your brushes?
